Matakana Food, Wine and Coast Tour
Definitely a ‘must-see’ if your time in Auckland allows it. The tour consists of a picturesque drive north, taking in the famous Auckland Harbour Bridge, to the magical Matakana, oozing good taste in both arts and fantastic food shops. The area surrounding Matakana is a rural paradise of dairy farms, wineries, honey farms and stunning panoramic views. We sample as much of the above as we can within the time. On our way back to Auckland we stop for a drink/wander/photos in historic Puhoi, a fascinating time-capsule from those harsh pioneer days. We return you back to Auckland full of interesting knowledge, memorable sights and well fed.
Tour duration: 9am-3pm (flexible)
Tour includes:
- Pick up Auckland Central
- Drive over the Harbour Bridge
- Stop in Matakana town for shops, galleries and cafes
- Lunch at a beautiful local winery and optional sculpture trail walk
- Drive along the Kawau Bay road with its stunning panoramic views
- Stop for refreshments and photos in historic Puhoi
- Return to Auckland Central
